Accomodation

The ISCOMS can arrange your accomodation during your stay in Groningen in June. Please read the information about the different options carefully.

The ISCOMS offers you the following options. Please note, that the accommodation has to be paid in advance.

1. Stay with a student:

You stay in the house of a Dutch student. The student also has an admission ticket for ISCOMS 2010 and may be able to show you around the student city of Groningen. The number of students that live in a student house varies, e.g. you may end up in a house with two students, but it is also possible that you stay in a house with eight others. You will probably have a roommate. When you choose to stay in a student house, you can indicate the period you wish to stay. The period you wish to stay has to be agreed between you and the student who you are staying with. You also agree upon whether you have to bring your own bed linen. Breakfast will be provided.
Please note that the ISCOMS organization will place you in a students house, you cannot choose which house to stay at yourself.
Price: 17,50

2. Housing Office (limited availability):

The accommodation is located near the center of Groningen and is a housing complex. When you choose this option, you will have your own room with a bed, desk, chair, closet and internet connection. You share the kitchen, bath room and toilet with students across the hall. The other students are all abroad so the working language is English. There are several living rooms in the building, where one can watch TV at night or have a drink with other students. As you have your own room, you will have more privacy at the Housing Office but you do have to provide for your own breakfast.
Price: 38 euro a night. You will have to bring your own bed linen. If you are unable to bring the bed linen, please email us. You will have to pay for this service. 

NB: If you choose for the Housing Office, you can only choose out of the following pre-determined periods:

Period 1: monday June 7th until friday June 11th (4 nights)
Period 2: monday June 7th until saturday June 12th (5 nights)
Period 3: tuesday June 8th until friday June 11th (3 nights)
Period 4: tuesday June 8th until saturday June 12th (4 nights)

If you wish to visit earlier or stay longer, you will have to arrange your own facilities or consider staying in a student house.

3. Stay in a pre-arranged hostel
The ISCOMS has arranged rooms in two hostels in Groningen, the BudGett hostel and the Friesland Hostel. These hostels are located in the center of Groningen. The rooms will be shared with either 1 or more ISCOMS participants.
Breakfast is included in the price for the Friesland Hostel. Breakfast is excluded in the price for the BudGett hostel, yet breakfast will be available for a small price.  
Price: 31,00 euro a night
NB: if you choose to stay in the hostel, you must stay for the following pre-determined period:
- tuesday June 8th until saturday June 12th (4 nights)
